Editorial guidelines

These are the rules our articles, knowledge entries and ticker items are produced by.

Principles

  1. Evidence before claims. Every factual statement has a retrievable source with a check date, linked directly next to the statement.
  2. No leaks. Leaked or otherwise unauthorised material is neither shown, linked nor described (Content, rights and how we handle leaks).
  3. No play tests of our own. We never claim to have played, measured or tested anything. Status instead of certainty.
  4. Rights before images. Images only with a documented rights record and credit.
  5. Document the added value. Every article answers internally: which question do we answer better than existing sources? Which contradiction do we resolve? We do not publish longer texts without new value.
  6. No headline overstates the evidence. Title and status must match the source; US time zones and prices are taken from suitable sources, not converted.

Source classes

We assign every source to a class. The class determines what we may derive from it:

ClassHandling
Official original sourceBasis for confirmed statements – to the extent actually stated.
Original editorial reportAdopt the statement with correct attribution; the source's status (“reported”) is preserved.
Summary by other outletsOnly a topic hint and a reason to look for the source; does not count as additional independent confirmation.
Insider or communityCheck origin and identity; at most classify as an unconfirmed report.
Repost or screenshot without originHold back. No factual article is produced from it.

Citing a source grants no permission to reproduce its texts, images or videos. We summarise in our own words and quote only briefly and for a specific purpose (Section 51 UrhG).

Status values

We assign every statement one of these status values. Knowledge entries, ticker items, the GTA 6 status on the home page and the GTA 6 pages, and “Music & radio” show it as a label with text and a symbol, never as colour alone. In articles the status is written out in the text (“according to …”, “officially confirmed”, “not confirmed”); where a fact box row is linked to a checked claim, the label appears there as well.

Officially confirmed
Published by the developer, publisher or platform operator itself – to the extent actually stated, not beyond.
Observed in official material
Visible in official material (trailer, screenshots, website) but not explicitly named. We describe what can be seen and give the timestamp.
Reported by source
Reported by another outlet or a named person; we attribute the statement to the source and do not adopt it as our own certainty.
Unconfirmed
There are indications but no reliable source. We explain what speaks for and against it.
Refuted
Refuted by an official statement or clear evidence.
Outdated
Was once correct but has been superseded by newer information. The article states the current status.

There is no “tested ourselves” here.

Use of AI assistance

We use AI-assisted tools for:

  • screening approved sources and detecting changes,
  • drafting texts from a verified fact package,
  • translating between the German and English editions,
  • automated checks (evidence, leak indicators, play-test claims, image rights, format).

Fixed rules apply:

  • No tool invents sources, numbers, quotations or user voices. What has no source is not published.
  • The English edition does not turn assumptions into facts and uses the official English game terms.
  • AI images are not presented as game scenes or evidence. Illustrations are recognisable as such.
  • A second automated pass is not independent confirmation. Doubt leads to holding back, not to publishing.
  • Responsibility lies with the person named in the legal notice; automated publishing without a trial run is switched off.

Corrections policy

  • Factual errors are corrected in the article and marked with a correction notice (date, what was wrong, what was changed).
  • Every correction also appears in the public corrections list.
  • Typos and wording without factual impact are fixed silently.
  • Superseded information receives the status “outdated” and a pointer to the current status; old news is not re-dated.
  • Hints from the community are checked against the source. Confirmed hints are credited as “hint from the community” – without personal data.
  • Every publication can be withdrawn; a kill switch stops automated publishing.

Non-commercial

Leonidatime is non-commercial: no advertising, no paid or sponsored content, no affiliate links and no paid membership. We do not make money with this site, and nobody can buy topics, assessments or status values.

  • We use official images on the basis of Rockstar Games' fan policy ↗ for non-commercial use – always credited “Image: Rockstar Games” right at the image.
  • Rights holders can reach us via the contact page. Official images that we show under the fan policy are taken offline immediately when Rockstar Games or Take-Two ask us to; other rights notices are reviewed with priority.
  • Links to official offers (such as pre-orders or music) carry no partner programme; we receive nothing for them.
  • Our team (admin or moderators) awards the community rank “Supporter” for active help – it cannot be bought.

Images and media

  • An image appears only with a cleared rights record (licence, press clearance, Rockstar Games' fan policy or own creation) and with credit.
  • We show official images (artworks, screenshots, thumbnails of official videos) unaltered: only cropped or scaled, no AI editing, no added logos or watermarks. We do not show images that would give away the story. We never show leaked images or fan fakes.
  • The images are stored on our own server or CDN; loading a page does not connect you to Rockstar Games. The editorial team approves every new image individually.
  • Images with mature content are shown only after a click, with an age notice.
  • Trailers are embedded only from the official channel and only after a click; scenes with mature content are flagged.
  • We do not use official logos, wordmark graphics or fonts of the game; where no suitable image has been approved, we use our own illustrations.

Community posts in editorial work

Comments and forum posts are members' opinions and do not change a status. We check useful hints against the source. We reuse good community answers only with consent and attribution – we never adopt personal data or third-party screenshots into articles unchecked. The rules for this are in the community rules.
