In short
Rockstar offers GTA 6 in two editions: the Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. TechRadar reports £69.99 and £89.99 in the UK, and PC Games Hardware and GameStar report €79.99 and €99.99 in Germany (all June 2026). Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and pre-orders of either edition include the Vintage Vice City Pack. The Ultimate Edition is digital only; stores carry just the Standard Edition, as a code in a box with no disc. The $399.99 Vice City Collection from the Rockstar Store is a collector’s box that does not include the game.

Below, we separate what Rockstar and Take-Two have officially said about Grand Theft Auto VI’s editions and prices from what only press reports or store listings show and what is still open—without a buying recommendation. For release date and platforms, see the GTA 6 hub.
Pre-order start, release date and platforms
Rockstar announced pre-orders on June 24, 2026, in a Newswire post that went out alongside a Take-Two press release. They went live on June 25, 2026, at midnight local time for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Launch is set for November 19, 2026, and Rockstar says digital pre-order customers can start pre-loading on November 12, 2026. No PC version has been announced. Take-Two’s release calls GTA VI a “single-player experience.”
Standard vs. Ultimate: the two editions side by side
- Standard Edition—$79.99 (official): the game, sold digitally on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store or at retail as a code in a box.
- Ultimate Edition—$99.99 (official): the game plus extra content, digital only.
- Ultimate Edition Upgrade: a digital add-on on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store for Standard Edition owners; boxed-copy buyers can upgrade once they have redeemed their code.
On its editions page, Rockstar pitches the Ultimate Edition as a bundle of extra premium vehicles, weapons and outfits, plus more content tied to Jason and Lucia’s story. The individual items come only from press coverage (GameStar and Kotaku, both June 24, 2026), which says they unlock as you progress. Items named include:
- Vehicles: ’95 Grotti Cheetah, ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy with a garage in Watson Bay, Shitzu Squalo boat, Dinka Enduro motorcycle, Crest kayak, Vapid Ganado mod kit
- Weapons: personalized models such as the “Hawk & Little Morgan” revolver and Girardi ES9 and Klose K17 variants
- Businesses: Stock 305, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Rideout Customs, One-Eyed Willie’s
- Also: the Electric Fang tattoo, a “Classic Car Collection” with mechanic Wyman, and the mission “PTT Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store”
Euro and pound prices: what is reported
The Rockstar and Take-Two announcements we have seen quote only US dollar prices, which also appear in the US stores. For Germany, PC Games Hardware (June 2026) and GameStar (June 25, 2026), citing store listings or a Take-Two communication, report €79.99 (Standard) and €99.99 (Ultimate), and the Ultimate Edition appears on the German Xbox Store. In the UK, TechRadar (June 25, 2026) reports £69.99 and £89.99.
We have not checked the German or UK store pages directly, and we have no sourced prices for Austria or Switzerland—check your regional store. Fears of a $100 or €120 base price, which circulated before pre-orders opened, proved unfounded. The upgrade is listed at £20.00 on the UK Xbox Store (June 2026 listing), and price trackers show $20.00. Retail prices can differ from store prices and fluctuate—check at checkout.
Pre-order bonus: Vintage Vice City Pack and GTA+
According to Rockstar Support, the Vintage Vice City Pack includes “the ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern.” Take-Two’s wording on eligibility: “all pre-orders and purchases before November 20, 2026, will include the Vintage Vice City Pack.” It gives no time or time zone; if you buy on launch day, check the bonus note in the store. For more on Vice City and other locations, see Places in Leonida.
Rockstar says physical pre-orders include a code for the game and the pack while supplies last; early access is not part of the bonus. Digital pre-orders and, per Rockstar Support, digital purchases before November 20, 2026, also include one month of GTA+—the subscription for the existing GTA Online, not for a GTA VI online mode, which Rockstar has not announced at all. The US PlayStation Store listing notes that the membership auto-renews, so check the terms before you buy.
Physical version: a code in a box, no disc
Rockstar Support is explicit: “A disc will not be included in the box.” The package holds a download code and hits stores on November 12, 2026, so you can pre-load—you still need the full download. The Ultimate Edition is not available at retail (“The Ultimate Edition is not sold physically”).
Per Push Square (June 2026), Video Games Plus in Canada and Loot Box Gaming in the US are not stocking the code version for that reason; we found no such reports about German retailers.
Reports of a later disc release traced back to a Rockstar support email and a report by Polish outlet PPE. Per Kotaku, The Hollywood Reporter, citing an anonymous source, said the email was genuine but ambiguously worded (it referred to the code version) and that Rockstar never planned to press discs. No later disc version has been announced, and neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has made a formal statement about one.
Vice City Collection: a collector’s box without the game
Since September 24, 2026, Rockstar has offered “The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection” for pre-order in its own store (Newswire, Rockstar Store): $399.99, “while supplies last,” one per customer, shipping from November 19, 2026. Availability is not confirmed as of October 14, 2026—check the store. The game is not included, neither as a disc nor as a code (“Grand Theft Auto VI sold separately”).
The store listing calls it a “premium Collector’s Box” with eleven items, among them a Macca the Gator figure, Oakley Frogskins sunglasses and a double-sided Leonida map poster; Forbes (October 1, 2026) also mentions a New Era cap and a crossbody bag. Rockstar has not presented an official map so far; documented locations are listed in our places directory.
For the German Rockstar Store, play3.de (September 24, 2026) reports €399.99 plus shipping, though the German store page showed “399,99 $” in search results—check the store. Rockstar has not announced a Collector’s Edition that includes the game; it lists only the Standard and Ultimate Editions, and “Collector’s Edition” as a name for the box comes from press and fans. Don’t confuse it with the “Grand Theft Auto VI Collection,” a merch line launched on October 8, 2026 (Newswire).
For comparison: what Rockstar did with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2
For GTA V (2013), Rockstar offered a $79.99 Special Edition and a $149.99 Collector’s Edition, both including the game, according to its May 2013 press release as carried by Gaming Nexus. For Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018), Gaming Trend and Engadget reported a Special Edition ($79.99), an Ultimate Edition ($99.99) and a $99.99 Collector’s Box without the game.
Per Xbox Wire, everyone who pre-ordered RDR2 got the War Horse and the Outlaw Survival Kit; per Gematsu, Ultimate Edition owners got into the Red Dead Online beta early, from November 27, 2018. Context: GTA VI has just two tiers, its Ultimate Edition costs the same $99.99 as RDR2’s did, and a collector’s box without the game is nothing new for Rockstar. This time, Rockstar has not announced any online perk for the Ultimate Edition.
What is not confirmed
- Euro and pound prices: Rockstar and Take-Two announcements quote only US dollars; euro and pound prices come only from press reports and individual store listings, German and UK store pages not checked directly. Austria and Switzerland: check the store.
- Upgrade price: not stated by Rockstar; no sourced euro price.
- Ultimate contents: press lists differ slightly; the full list in Rockstar’s own wording has not been cross-checked.
- Vintage Vice City Pack: more specific details circulating online (garage location, specific outfits, weapon pattern) come from press descriptions of official artwork, not from Rockstar. Whether boxed copies bought after launch include the pack is unclear.
- Rockstar Store: sources conflict on whether it sells the game or only links to PlayStation and Xbox.
- Vice City Collection: availability, euro price, shipping countries and costs, and the full item list are still open.
- Disc and bundles: no later disc version announced, none officially ruled out; no known early access or official console bundles.
- Times: a start time for pre-loading on November 12 is not settled—Beebom and IBTimes UK cite Rockstar Support for midnight local time, which we could not confirm. Rockstar has not published a regional unlock schedule for November 19.
- Pre-order numbers: Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said, per ComputerBase (September 2026), that pre-orders were skewing toward the pricier edition, but he gave no figures. Revenue estimates are unconfirmed.
