- Official website
Brian Heder is one of the eight character profiles Rockstar published in the Only in Leonida section on May 6, 2025. Rockstar paints him as a classic drug runner from the heyday of the Leonida Keys in the ’70s and ’80s – and his career is far from over: he and his third wife, Lori, are still in the smuggling business, using his boatyard as their base. In other words, he is not a “former” smuggler.
Brian is closely tied to the protagonists: Jason Duval lives in one of Brian's properties without paying rent and, in exchange, helps him with shakedowns in the area, and Cal Hampton works for him too. Lori is officially named in Brian's profile but has no profile of her own. According to Dexerto, Brian and Lori both appear in An Extended Look from August 27, 2026. More under Characters and Places.
What is not confirmed
- Voice actor: As of October 14, 2026, we have found no official cast list from Rockstar. According to VICE (September 2026), actor Stephen Root told the Associated Press that you will see him in the game. Reports differ on whether he named the role himself; the link to Brian Heder comes only from the press, and Rockstar has not confirmed it.
- Spelling: His official name is Brian Heder. Some coverage of the Extended Look uses the misspelling “Hader.”
- Profile details: The boatyard and his marriage to Lori come from the profile text, which we paraphrase; roundups such as the one at PCGamesN summarize it the same way. What part Lori plays in the story is unknown.
