- Official website
The Leonida Keys are one of the six regions Rockstar has presented on their own “Only in Leonida” page since May 6, 2025. Rockstar’s description boils down to a tropical chain of small islands at the state’s southern tip, strung together by long bridges. The downloads page offers a matching postcard design of the Keys.
The official character profiles tie the Keys to Jason and Brian: after serving in the Army, Jason Duval works in the Keys for local drug runners. Brian Heder is described as a classic drug runner from the Keys’ heyday in the ’70s and ’80s whose career is far from over. Brian lets Jason live rent-free in one of his properties as long as Jason helps with local shakedowns. More under Characters.
What is not confirmed
- The Florida Keys as the model: an obvious comparison, but one made by the press and fans, not by Rockstar.
- Wording: We have not yet fully checked the place and character pages against the original text; the descriptions here are paraphrased.
- Islands and borders: Rockstar has not published the names of individual islands, bridge routes or the extent of the region. There is no official map; documented locations are listed in our places directory.
