Leonida

Leonida is the fictional US state where Grand Theft Auto VI is set. In the official synopsis on rockstargames.com/VI, a job that should have been simple goes sideways and drags Jason and Lucia into a criminal conspiracy spanning the entire state – leaving the two more dependent on each other than ever.

When Rockstar expanded its website alongside Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, it officially named six regions in the “Only in Leonida” section. The short descriptions below are paraphrased:

• Vice City – the meta text of the official pages points to its neon-soaked streets
• Leonida Keys – a tropical island chain at the southern tip of the state, linked by long bridges
• Grassrivers – a sprawling wetland of open water and mangroves
• Port Gellhorn – a run-down coastal resort town with shuttered attractions
• Ambrosia – a working-class industrial town built around a large sugar refinery
• Mount Kalaga National Park – hills, rivers and trails; Rockstar mentions hunting, fishing, kayaking and off-roading

Other official references: Lucia’s character profile names the Leonida Penitentiary, the prison she only got out of by sheer luck. Rockstar’s collector’s box “The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection” contains a double-sided Leonida map poster, according to the store listing. It was announced on the Newswire on September 24, 2026; the game is not included, and shipping starts November 19, 2026. What is not confirmed

• Map and borders: Rockstar has not published region borders, a road network or a complete list of places. Rockstar has not officially presented the Collection’s map artwork; whether it shows borders or district names is unknown. There is no official map; documented locations are listed in our places directory.
• Size: Press estimates, such as the GamesRadar live blog on the Extended Look (August 27, 2026), put Leonida at roughly twice the area of the GTA V map. There is no documented official size figure from Rockstar.
• Other locations: Press reports read Kelly County from frames of Trailer 1, and according to SVG (August 2026), Effluvia appears in the Extended Look; we are not aware of Rockstar introducing either name as a place in text. That is why we do not list them as separate official entries.
